8Catamarans There are hundreds of small islands surrounding Mauritius’ main island. One of the best ways to explore these islands is by Catamaran. A Catamaran can take between 10 – 30 persons, join a group on a chartered day trip or hire a catamaran exclusively for you and your family. Lunch, drinks, and snorkelling equipment are usually supplied as part of the excursion. There is no better way to explore Mauritius’ remote islands.
9Frederica Nature ReserveThe Frederica Nature Reserve offers breath-taking views, vast plains where deer roam freely and there is the opportunity to view some of the island’s stunning waterfalls. Discover the reserve on foot or opt for quad biking, a 4x4 discovery tour, a dedicated kids’ tour or on a Segway. La Vallee de FerneyNestled in the Bambou Mountains, La Vallee de Ferney is a nature reserve of 200 hectares. The Park is the home to more than 100 plant species and numerous animals including vertebrate and invertebrate species. A visit to La Vallee de Ferney provides the family with a unique educational experience where they can learn about biodiversity conservation and environmental protection.La Vallee des Couleurs Nature Park The park has 23-coloured earth which dates back to the eruption of the Bassin Blanc volcano over a million years ago. Nature loving families can explore a range of natural landscapes, including plateaus, mountains, valleys, craters and crater-lakes. They can see rare examples of indigenous Mauritian fauna and flora and an array of animals that inhabit the park.Yanature The stories surrounding its history associated with the maroons, have made Le Morne a symbol of the slaves’ fight for freedom, their suffering, and their sacrifice. The mountain’s rich heritage and cultural significance have been recognised by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site. This wild mountain is home to a multitude of endemic species such as the rare Trochetia Boutonania, and its red flaming flower.

Visit Chazal and take part in the “Riviére des Galets” trek, be brave and experience canyoning and if you’re not scared of heights go zip lining! Domaine De L’étoile is a must visit Adventure Park. There are many ways you can explore the Domaine De L’Etoile including hiking, mountain biking, quad biking and horse-riding. 12Submarine & sub scooterBlue Safari Submarine and sub-scooters allow you to explore the depths of the Indian Ocean surrounding Mauritius. The submarine will safely transport you 35 metres below sea level; from these depths you can view a wide variety of reef, marine life and shipwrecks. Blue and educational experience – not to be missed.Dolphin watchingBottlenose dolphins and spinner dolphins have made the West Coast of Mauritius their home. In the early hours of the morning Dolphins can be observed swimming on their way Morne peninsula. There are numerous the unique opportunity to see these majestic animals in their natural habitat. Glass Bottom BoatHead to Blue Bay Marine Park, situated on the South East coast of Mauritius near Mahebourg to admire Mauritius’ thriving marine life. 13Undersea WalkUndersea Walk is a shallow water diving activity. It requires no underwater skills or training and is completely unrelated to scuba diving. It is ideal for non-swimmers and swimmers alike. Guides present you with a helmet which has panels and provides you with a water, you will be taken on a guided tour of the lagoon’s sandy seabed where you will see some of the best examples of the island’s variety of sea life. SnorkellingMauritius boasts some of the best snorkelling spots, these include; Blue Bay Marine Park, Pointe aux Piments, Trou aux Biches, Flic en Flac, Ile aux Cerfs. Scuba Diving The island’s safe lagoons, large areas ship wrecks provide a wide variety of dives for both beginners and those with more experience. Many hotels for new scuba divers.
